Hey all. Just another quick update. I made it over Tioga Pass in Yosemite National Park. It was about a 6000' climb and I did the first 4000' the first day and the remainder the second. After leaving the park I rode south on Route 395 which had amazing views of the jagged, rocky and snow covered Sierra Mountains. Today I headed into Death Valley from Lone Pine, which is the closest town to Mt. Whitney - the highest mountain in the contiguous US. The views back to the Sierras from the desert were pretty incredible, as were the views as I descended into the valley. I have a 3000' climb tomorrow that I'll try to get an early start on to beat the heat, then I'll descend again to almost 300' below sea level at Badwater. I'm at Panamint Springs now, which is a little oasis in the desert. The internet access here is a little spotty, so this will have to do for my blog update for today. Ciao!
