Quick Update from San Pedro (#2)

posted May 24, 2011, 6:31 PM by Paul Gareau
Hello again! My mail finally arrived yesterday, so I'll be back on the road tomorrow! I have no idea how it got delayed three weeks, and I didn't ask, but I have my warm jacket back so that's all that matters. :) My side trip to Uyuni, Sucre and Potosi was great and since all of it would have been very challenging and cold I don't mind too much that I didn't do it by bike. Hanging around San Pedro for another two weeks really wasn't something I wanted to do anyway. So, today I did some work on my bike, including changing the front bearings for the first time of the trip, and I bought food for the next 6-7 days, since there won't be any reliable food stops until Argentina - unfortunately I have to lug it all over the high passes between the two countries. I'll probably check in next from Salta, Argentina 8-9 days from now, but I'll be using my Spot along the way. Also, I've posted my pictures from the past three weeks, but since I haven't had a chance to label them, I haven't linked the album to this site yet. If you're curious, you can open the Picasa page and check out the latest album (top left). That's all for now - I just hope the westerly winds keep up to push me over the passes. Ciao!
